About Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a savings scheme run by the Government of India. Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana The scheme is a blessing for parents to create the necessary financial funds to meet the expenses of their daughter's future education and marriage. Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana was started by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2015 from Panipat in Haryana as part of Betty Bachao, Betty Padhao Yojana. The plan currently has an interest rate of 7.6% (for the April-July 2020 quarter). The interest rate of Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana is fixed every three months by the Government of India.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana accounts can be opened at any post office or authorized bank anywhere in India. Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account can also be transferred from Post Office to Bank and from Bank to Post Office anywhere in India. The interest rate was fixed at 9.1% when Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana was launched. The current interest rate is 7.6%.
Account opening time limit
The time limit for opening an account in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana has been fixed. This account can be opened at any time till your daughter reaches the age of 10 years. This account cannot be opened after the daughter reaches the age of 10 years.
How many accounts can be opened ?
Accounts can be opened up to two girls under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. This means that each parent can open a maximum of two accounts for their two daughters. But in the case of twin children an account can be opened for three girls.
How much money can be deposited in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account during the year ?
A minimum of Rs 250 and a maximum of Rs 1,50,000 can be deposited in the account under this scheme for one year. If you cannot deposit a minimum amount of Rs. 250 in one year, your account will be frozen. You will have to pay a charge of Rs. This means that you will have to pay a charge of Rs 50 per year for the number of years you have not been able to deposit money in this account. E.g. If you have not been able to deposit money in this account for 5 years, your account will be reactivated by paying 5 years * 50 = 250 charge.
How long can rupee be deposited in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account ?
Money can be deposited in this account of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana till the completion of 15 years from the date of account opening. After 15 years, the account will continue to operate at interest rate only.
When can rupee be withdrawn from Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account ?
If you need money for your daughter's higher studies, you will be able to withdraw 50% of the amount deposited in this account when you turn 18 years old. After completing 21 years from the date of opening the account, the amount will be credited to your account. This means that after completing 21 years, the full amount will be refunded to you along with interest. If the daughter is over 18 years of age and is married, the deposit can be withdrawn by closing this account.

At the current interest rate, if you invest Rs 2,000 per month in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, that is, an annual investment of Rs 24,000 for 15 years, you will get Rs 10,54,891 after 21 years at an interest rate of 7.6%.

At the current interest rate, if you invest Rs 3,000 per month in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, that is, an annual investment of Rs 36,000 for 15 years, you will get Rs 15,82,337 after 21 years at an interest rate of 7.6%.

At the current interest rate, if you invest Rs 4,000 per month in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, that is, an annual investment of Rs 48,000 for 15 years, you will get Rs 21,09,783 after 21 years at an interest rate of 7.6%.

At the current interest rate, if you invest Rs 5,000 per month in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, that is, an annual investment of Rs 60,000 for 15 years, you will get Rs 26,37,229 after 21 years at an interest rate of 7.6%.
